Warren Spiers
graduated Aston University in 2001 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering following a successful apprenticeship with Cincinnati Milacron, a machine tool builder based in Birmingham.
After completion of a graduate teacher training position he returned to industry to use his machine tool experience and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to progress a career in machine safety. He has worked for industry leaders such as Castell (trap key interlocking), Safety Systems Technologies and Laidler Associates.

In 2011 Warren created Spiers Engineering Safety (Spiers Ltd) and was very happy to share this new venture with Mike Armstrong (former Laidler) as Technical Director. Together they offer comprehensive services in CE marking, PUWER, Machine Safety Training and Engineering Audits.

Mike Armstrong
served an engineering apprenticeship with Pickerings Lifts, based in Stockton on Tees and has worked in a variety of engineering roles with United Biscuits and Walkers Snack Foods, prior going on to work gain more than 10years experience in a technical safety role with both Laidler Associates and Rockwell Automation.
As well as gaining practical experience within the industry, Mike graduated from the University of Greenwich in 2010 with a degree in Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental degree. Mike is also a TUV Rhineland certified functional safety engineer
